The Archimedes Screw Turbine System in Unlicensed Electricity Generation for Municipalities and Public Institutions
Rivers passing through city centers have a significant potential for energy generation. Especially within the scope of recreation projects implemented by municipalities, it is possible to utilize this hydraulic potential. As Mikrohes Energy and Technology Inc., we support unlicensed electricity generation in such projects using the Archimedes Screw Turbine System.
The Archimedes Screw Turbine System is an environmentally friendly solution designed to generate energy from low head and low flow rivers. This system is an ideal option for electricity generation in recreation projects to be established by municipalities and public institutions on rivers passing through city centers.
Under the Electricity Market Law No. 6446 and the relevant regulations, municipalities and public institutions may apply for unlicensed electricity generation. In this context, the relevant municipalities can establish hydroelectric power generation plants up to a total installed capacity of 300 kW after being endorsed by DSI.
A municipality can apply to establish a hydroelectric power generation plant on the river passing through the city center. The application is made within the framework of the procedures specified in the Regulation on Unlicensed Electricity Generation in the Electricity Market.
The project must obtain an endorsement from DSI, which will evaluate the project in terms of efficient and environmentally friendly use of water resources.
After approval, the Archimedes Screw Turbine System is installed and energy production starts. This system meets the electrical energy needs of the recreation areas.
These integration methods will not only increase power generation capacity but also minimize environmental impacts:
The Archimedes Screw Turbine System minimizes environmental impacts as an environmentally friendly technology.
It provides efficient energy production from rivers with low head and flow rates.
Within the scope of unlicensed electricity generation, municipalities can reduce their costs by producing their own energy.
Power generation in city centers helps local governments achieve their sustainability goals and raises public awareness.
At Mikrohes, we have realized many successful projects with the energy solutions we integrated into the recreation projects of various municipalities:
Sapanca Municipality Project: A project that won environmental awards as it meets the energy needs of the municipality by converting the water used in the pond into energy within the scope of the recreation project realized around Sapanca Lake.
